Pastor J. Alan Ritter
Psalm 107:1-2
A church bus would stop every Sunday to take him to church. At age 16 he sensed God’s call on his life to salvation, Alan repented of his sin, and received Christ as Lord and Savior at Cascade Baptist Church in Mooresville, NC. Shortly after this his family moved back to his hometown of Graham. At age 17, while visiting a church, he met his future wife, Joyce Bare. The two discovered they attended the same school and they began to see one another on a regular basis and their friendship blossomed. They would graduate together two years later. Upon graduation Pastor Alan entered the USMC and after graduation from bootcamp he and his high school sweetheart Joyce, were married on Oct. 7, 1983. At age 30, while a deacon at North Graham Baptist Church in Graham, NC, Pastor Alan received his call from God to the ministry. Shortly after his call from God, he quit his job at an automotive plant and entered seminary at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He would graduate 2 years later with an Associate of Divinity degree under the presidency of Dr. Paige Patterson. Upon graduation he pastored his home church for the next 5 years. In May of 2001 he accepted a call to the pastorate of our church here in Homosassa, Fl. He moved his family, now with three daughters, Jennifer, Regina & Skylar from North Carolina to Florida and since that time have had the blessing of two grandchildren, Kassie & Nathanael and a third grandchild on the way. Looking back over his life Pastor Alan can trace the hand of God as God worked in his life even before salvation to bring about the purpose of God in his life, which, ultimately lead him to us.
